Simple PHP redirection script with device detection

Redirect mobiles and pc browsers to different locations after device detection. Useful for hybrid sites having special mobile version.

Device Detection
Mobile Phones lately have taken a considerable amount of total internet access chunk. They now constitute more than 1/3rd of the mediums used to connect with internet. With the launch of web friendly mobile browsers such as opera mini and netfront, the stats have only been increasing. Internet access via mobiles is bound to grow in near future.

For the reasons above and more, one would want a mobile phone browser friendly interface site, but then one would have to create two versions of the same site. Making two versions is not a complicated stuff the more important thing here is to redirect mobile phone users properly to the mobile interface, while maintaining PC browser users on the PC interface site. In order to do so,one requires device detection.

Device Detection is no rocket science and gets implemented by adding just a few lines of coding content. It differentiates between mobile browsers and PC browsers. The detection works both ways. The script for redirection with device detection is linked below :

Redirection Script

PHP
Copy paste parts of this script to use redirection. Just make sure that you replace the url inside text file to define locations for wap ( mobile ) and web ( pc ) content. The redirect works fine as long as headers are detected. The script is free and can be edited as per requirement. It is simple PHP server side scripting.
