Econet Wireless is Zimbabwe s principal mobile operator or cellular telephony company. Econet was established by a Zimbabwean businessman, Strive Masiyiwa. It is now Zimbabwe s largest mobile phone network having approximately 43 percent of the market share.
Econet Wireless launched commercial 3G services alongside an expanded 2.5G data service on 28 August 2009. Comprehensive package of data services based on 3G (W-CDMA), GPRS and EDGE technologies were rolled out for People of Harare initially and later for all major Cities in Zimbabwe.

Econet services in Mutare is sometimes poor especially [sound quallity]. It (network) is sometimes disrupted without notices, this brings much inconvinience to our bussines\' though its our trusted network service provider. Did you know that not all of us send \"please call me back\" without moral purpose? So let them be able to be send to netone and telecel, plus we must personalise our names on them. Can we acces video calling on our mobile devices? If we cant when are we going to acces them?
